There are many opportunities to get involved at Freedom a la Cart, including working in the kitchen, becoming a mentor, and helping with special events. volunteer in the kitchen
Work with Freedom catering service — Are you “at home” in the kitchen? We schedule volunteers to assist with our catering and box lunch social enterprise by working alongside our employees in the kitchen. Shifts are available weekdays; 9am-12pm or 12-3pm. Human Trafficking training and a background check are required to work directly with our survivors.
provide meals
We collect volunteer-provided meal donations for CATCH Court lunches (Thursdays), outings, and program holiday gatherings throughout the year. No training required. Sign up to provide a meal.
small group opportunities
Are you interested in bringing a small of group to volunteer with us? During the holidays, we offer exciting volunteer opportunities which are perfect for groups to support special initiatives like our Cause Cookies campaign, Adopt A Family and Butterfly Holiday Bags! Look for updates on our social media or subscribe to receive our emails. Join us and together we can make a meaningful impact!
Become a Mentor
Mentoring is very important to the success of the individuals in our programs. We have three mentorship programs: CATCH Mentors, Educational Mentors, and Professional Mentors.
CATCH Mentors — Walk alongside a survivor on her journey through CATCH Court. This is a two-year commitment and requires an estimated two hours per week.
EDUCATIONAL Mentors —Tutor a survivor as she works to get her GED, High School Diploma, or pursues another educational opportunity.
PROFESSIONAL Mentors —Assist a survivor with professional development skills and support as she transitions into the traditional workforce.
The requirements of being a mentor include:
- Anti-Human Trafficking training
- Freedom a la Cart’s mentor training
- Submit a background check
- Personal interview with one of our staff

We encourage all volunteers to complete basic Human Trafficking Training available at Freedom a la Cart or attend training through She Has A Name ministry. To become a mentor or work closely with our program participants, additional Mentor Training is required.
