Lunch + Learn – RISE Court
Restorative justice initiatives are “CATCH”ing on throughout our state! RISE (Restore Individual Self-Empowerment) Court ‘began in October 2018 as a court-sponsored program and is led by Judge Ron Cable. RISE became a certified specialized docket in November 2020.’ The innovative program is modeled after CATCH Court, Franklin County’s specialty docket created to help adult female victims of human trafficking, prostitution, and sexual exploitation.
The first of its kind within Summit County, Judge Cable began RISE to identify and help human trafficking victims and lead them as they ‘create new, positive paths for themselves.’
Join us as we learn alongside Judge Cable in learning about the Akron, Ohio Docket and what other initiatives are going on statewide. RISE received the Ohio State Bar Association’s Innovative Court Programs and Practices Award in September 2021, acknowledged as ‘an exemplary program’ within the Ohio court system.
